ISO /IEC 17020:2012 is standard applicable to various types of bodies performing Inspection . ISO/IEC 17020:2012 specifies requirements for the competence of bodies performing inspection and for the impartiality and consistency of their inspection activities.
ISO/IEC 17020 standard is applicable to :
Inspection bodies of type A, B or C, as defined in ISO/IEC 17020:2012, and it applies to any stage of inspection.
What is Type A, Type B & Type C Inspection Body ?
- Type A - Third Party Inspection Body
- Type B - In House Inspection body which is a Separate but identifiable entity
- Type C - Identifiable but not separate entity
